| The number of members of the HCC Board of Directors will be increased. July 30, 2008 -- The Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan St. Louis has voted to change the current by-laws with the intent of increasing the number of members of the Board of Directors from the current eleven to fifteen. “The Board is composed entirely of volunteers,” said Jorge Riopedre, Chairman of the Board. “With all the new programs being added, the Technology Center, and all the other initiatives we’re pursuing, the Board feels that we need to increase the number of people who can formally dedicate themselves to advancing the organization.” In order to amend the by-laws, a minimum of one-third of the members in good standing must be present at a meeting called for this purpose. The Board is therefore announcing that a vote on the proposed change will take place at the next Business After Hours on August 28th at the American Red Cross. |
